What is tax audit? |
A tax
audit is an investigation to determine whether the information provided to the IRB on the
information/ tax return is correct - and as a result the audit can determine whether the
proper amount of tax was paid. With the implementation of the self assessment system for companies starting from year 2000, IRB will be making more field tax audits. Some of these tax audits are relatively routine in nature. The intention is to keep all tax payers on their toes. Whether
you need professional assistance with an audit depends on your particular circumstances.
If your tax matters are simple, you may be able to handle it yourself or be your
accountant. |
