What is a Free Zone?

A free zone is deemed to be a place outside the Principal Customs Area and is not subject to customs jurisdiction except in respect of Prohibition Orders on imports and exports. Goods and services can be brought into free zones without payment of customs duties, excise duties, sales tax and service tax.
