The rate of service tax is 5%. This tax is levied on both taxable goods and services except:

·            for the provision and issuance of charge or credit card, the service tax is RM50 per card per year or part thereof.

·            in the case of free hotel rooms to an approved person responsible for the development of the tourism industry, the service tax is RM2 per room per night.
